Let’s face it, we weren’t very nice about the Creator’s Project. For something that promised to be huge, it ended up as a bit of a damp squib, although lots of people enjoyed Major Lazer, even if it was just Diplo and MC. Delorean didn’t get their gear through customs, CSS dropped out at the last minute, promotion was non-existent. It felt like a bit of a waste of cash.
Still, the premise was a good one (if poorly executed) and it continues to this day. In fact, Creator’s Project have just announced a massive collaboration with US Festival behemoth Coachella. And one of the things that they are doing is taking a band from Brazil, from Korea and, you guessed it, China. New Pants will be playing in some corner of the Indio Polo Fields this April. We love to see Chinese bands getting the opportunity to get out of the country and show other markets what’s actually going on culturally in China. Add the fact that they are getting this kind of profile while abroad is really exciting. You can check it yourself HERE. Oh, and the lineup is pretty big too…
