However, from now until December, 15 theaters in Beijing, which seating capacities ranging from 500-3,000 seats, will receive monthly subsidies on their Chinese opera, dance, musical, play and classical music concerts. This is according to a press release circulated by the city’s cultural affairs bureau.
The number of subsidized performances will not exceed 25 per year, and participating theaters include the NCPA, Poly Theatre, Chang’an Theatre and Capital Grand Theatre. More information on the new policy available here.
