A source close to the action told us yesterday that there is a local “agent” in the China region offering holds on Lady Gaga shows in exchange for a non-returnable deposit. Not legitimately, it seems, as industry behemoth LiveNation signed an exclusive deal with the couture-heavy panto-princess in March this year, to represent her Monster Ball around the world. Same said company have issued a cease-and-desist to this “intermediary”, who has apparently taken at least 3 x US$30,ooo deposits already and is trying to solicit more.
So the rule of thumb – if you are offered L.aga – hell, any artist – and asked to pay a deposit to get priority, check with a reputable company/ source. It’s easy enough to verify…
