We’ve been a bit doom and gloom over here at Radar HQ the past few weeks with cancellations flying across our desks left and right (more on that in a minute). However, from October 20 to 27 Shanghai’s venerable JZ Festival returns with the Master Hall series and weekend festival at Expo Park.
Like in past years, the festival is split into two parts, the Master Hall series of world-renowned jazz musicians and groups playing at Shanghai Centre Theatre over the course of a week, and the Channel Young Green Note outdoor festival at the Expo site the weekend before. The festival headliners include American jazz musicians Chris Potter and Ray Hargrove as well as Mandopop stars Khalil Fong and Karen Mok. Also slated to appear at Hanggai, Shanren, Jungelmico Project, B6, AM444 and many others.
Interestingly, the weekend festival is sponsored by Channel Young, the same media company who were behind last month’s Zebra Festival (which we previewed here). Peep below for the whole Green Note schedule and pop over to the official website for information on the Master Hall Series, tickets, times and more.
