We’ve often bemoaned the lack of decent live sound professionals in China. Like many of the skills required by a mature music industry, they just simply aren’t here just yet, at least not in any sort of abundance. Local bands are really stepping things up in terms of quality, but are too often let down by inexperience behind the mixing consoles.
Well, Sennheiser, nice people that they seem to be, are trying to solve this problem. Starting on Sunday 24th January at Mao Livehouse in Shanghai, the brand are bringing over some of their best professionals from Germany to host a 5 day free (the free is in inverted commas on the flyer, so we don’t know exactly what that means) “professional Live Mixing workshop”. The course will be split between Front of House, Monitors, wireless microphones and stage setups.
Seats are first come first served and limited to 300. Contact andry (dot) ai (at) sennheiser (dot) com.cn
